This is an extremely fine World War I German Hessian enlisted man’s visor hat that is in excellent condition. The body is constructed of fine dark blue wool with a red wool hat band. The crown of the hat is piped in red. It is complete with both cockades that are original to the hat. The black visor is with brown underside and firmly attached to the body. The interior is with a faux black leather sweatband that shows very little wear and is sewn firmly in place. The interior is lined with a tan satin material and is with the silver leaf maker’s mark of, “Michael Kaiser – Uniform Mützen Fabrik”. The interior is also stamped with unit designation, “E. 2. 115.” within a square signifying use by the 115th Hessian Lifeguard Regiment. The hat possesses a beautiful shape and is completely with out damage. Tough to find in this condition.
