This is an extremely fine World War I Prussian Pilots Badge by C.E. Junker in its presentation case that remains in excellent condition. It is of hollow construction with a smooth back plate that is marked with the crescent moon logo of the Junker firm of Berlin. Next to this crescent is the “800” silver content number. The pin and catch assemblies are present and fully functional. The badge is exquisitely detailed and exhibits very high-quality craftsmanship. It features a pierced Imperial Crown at the top which is characteristic of all original Junker made pieces. The silver to both the obverse and reverse sides is with a beautiful age toned patina. The badge is housed in its original presentation case which is constructed of heavy pressed paper with a black faux leatherette exterior. There is some light wear to the corners and edges. The interior lid is lined with a white satin type material. The badge rests on a burgundy colored velvet base with a cutout for the pin assembly and intact interior fabric hinge cover. The exterior push button spring catch is fully functional and holds the lid firmly closed.
