A very fine First World War U.S. Victory Medal with scarce “RUSSIA” bar that is in excellent condition. The bronze planchet is exceptionally well struck and exhibits sharp detail to both the obverse and reverse sides. It is suspended from the original ribbon which is strong, solid and with vivid color. The medal is suspended from a full wrap bronze broach with functional pin and catch assemblies. Attached to the ribbon is the scarce “RUSSIA” campaign clasp which was awarded for service in Northern Russia from 12 November 1918 to 31 July 1919. This clasp has a dull gold finish with beautiful burnished highlights and is original and correct in every respect.
