This is an extremely fine WWII German Luftwaffe Transport operational flight clasp in silver that is in excellent condition. It is with an even silver finish to both the obverse and reverse. The central flying eagle is firmly affixed to the clasp by a solid hollow rivet. The reverse is unmarked and with long fluted pin and catch assemblies. The flight clasps were instituted by Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring on 30 January 1941 and awarded in three grades, bronze, silver, and gold. The silver grade of this flight clasp was awarded for 60 combat sorties against the enemy.
