This is an extremely fine WWII German Luftwaffe tropical belt and buckle that is in near mint condition. The belt is constructed of greenish tan canvas and features the web belt adjustment tab with 7 rows of holes, each hole stitch reinforced for the prongs of the belt buckle. It is marked on end with the size “95” (centimeters) and measures 37 inches in length. The steel Luftwaffe buckle is painted in the dark Luftwaffe blue finish and exhibits ever so light wear to the high areas. There is a maker’s mark on the underside just forward of the belt hook catch that is indecipherable. There is no tab on the buckle and it appears that it was never fitted for one. There is no damage to either the belt or the buckle and they both remain beautiful examples of the tropical type web gear used by Rommel’s Afrika Korps in North Africa from 1941 to 1943.
