This is a very nice World War II German Model 1942 single decal army helmet the is in excellent condition. The shell is with a smooth dark gray/green finish and is completely undamaged. The left side is with a nicely age toned army decal that remains approximately 98% intact. The interior back skirt is stamped, “dpk6?” indicating manufacture by the Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G firm. The second digit following the “6” is too lightly stamped to make out. The lot number, “5441” is incised below this. The owner’s name, “GEFREITER DEITER STRASS” is painted in white on the interior left skirt. The leather liner is cream colored and remains soft, supple and is without damage. It is marked, “55” and would indicate that the shell size is 62 centimeters. The original dome sting runs through the tips of the fingers. The liner retaining rivets are factory tight and have never been removed from the shell. There is no chin strap present. It remains a fine-looking example in excellent, undamaged condition.
