This is a very fine WWII German panzer black wrapper for a Oberfeldwebel of reconnaissance troops that is in excellent condition. It is constructed of black wool and lined with gray cotton material. Attached to each shoulder is a yellow piped, slip-on Oberfeldwebel, officer candidate shoulder board with 2 silver rank pips and officer candidate tress. The collar is also piped in yellow and has yellow piped skull collar tab sewn to each collar tip. There is yellow wool material behind both skulls to make the eyes appear yellow as well. Sewn into the top left buttonhole is a ribbon for the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Machine sewn to the right breast is a white on black, machine embroidered enlisted panzer breast eagle. The lower left breast has loops for 3 awards. The interior left breast area is maker marked on the interior “Hch. Muermann” and the size information, “43”, “45”, “98”, “57”, “63”, and “E38”. All the black Bakelite buttons are present and undamaged. This remains a fine-looking example in lightly used condition and is much tougher to find than the standard pink piped jackets.
NOTE: The decorations shown on the jacket are NOT included in this sale.
