This is a very nice World War II German Model 1940 double decal field police helmet the is in excellent condition. The shell is with a smooth gray/green finish and is completely undamaged. Th left side is with the red, white, and black national insignia shield which is 98% and the right-side is with the silver and black police shield decal that is about 94%. Both decals are bordered. The inner left side flange is stamped, “SE 64” indicating manufacture by the Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G fim in Lauter, and the 64-centimeter shell size. The lot number, “3084” is incised into the rear flange. The leather liner remains soft, supple and is size- marked “56” at the tip of one of the fingers. The liner exhibits wear around the lower edges and has one area with a heavy flake at the rear. The original owners name is written on the inner left side. The original, uncut chin strap is present and is with aluminum adjustment buckle. It remains a very attractive example in excellent condition.
